Your report of Herb’s disorganized ways made me smile. Herb was married for 45 yrs to my sister,Pat. Over time we accumulated a treasury of mental snap-shots: Oatmeal burning on the stove while Herb futzed over something on a painting; grabbing a slice of toast to eat on his way to play golf/bridge/book club/meet the teen he was sponsoring for Confirmation; hats, gloves & sweaters left by the wayside; shouts of laughter over a game of Monopoly. Yes, a complex man: loving husband, father(incl foster & Grand), uncle,cousin, civic and church volunteer,friend, and yes, in-law.

Great talking to you….thanks for sending me to this blog entry…it moved me…the Buzzards Bay I know and love…shared and cared about by an artist…in my mind’s eye I picture tugboats at night in the canal…and antique shops which I love poking through for treasures from days gone by…looking ahead …and looking back…hopeful in May as the Cape blossoms…talk to you soon…happy painting!
